The tongue and boot junction creates a fold on the inside of the boot. This fold may rub against the bony prominence of your inner ankle and cause discomfort. The soft nature of the leather contributes to this. I am not pleased but use a folded washcloth to solve this. Will not buy again.

Very stylish, yet heavy, and the tongue of the boot folds at the connection to the side/lace area inside the boot and it does cause friction and with my ankle. I didn’t keep them long enough to see if this would result in bruising. I took a chance on them as they were 50% off on Zappos but sent back and went back to my timberland euro hikers.
